(Updated May 24, 2020): We have spent the last two weeks preparing the church facilities for re-opening. Now that things are ready and the COVID numbers in our county have remained fairly stable, the Pastor and Deacons met this morning and agreed the church would reopen for in-person worship services on May 31st, 2020. Here are a few things to remember.

  • Initially, we will only meet on Sunday mornings for the regular 10:30 worship service. Things like Sunday school, Sunday nights, and Wednesday nights would need to be phased in later. (We will continue our online Bible study, Wednesdays at 5 pm and our online devotionals, Fridays at 5 pm, at
  • There will be no children’s church or nursery to start with. Children will be in the service with their families. The church will provide activity bags for the older children.
  • Doors will be unlocked at 10:15 and will be propped open while people are entering and leaving to minimize the need for contact with door handles.
  • Please use the front bathrooms to cut down on the number of rooms that need to be disinfected between services.
  • Please clean your hands when entering the church. Hand sanitizer is available just inside the auditorium, from a pump or touch-less dispenser.
  • Please wear a mask. If you don’t have one of your own, there are some reusable ones on the front table. (These are sterilized in between each service. Please return them to the “used mask” basket on your way out.)
  • If you have offering, it can be placed in one of the baskets in the back. We will not pass the plate.
  • Any needed items (like masks, bulletins, song sheets, offering envelopes, kids’ activity bags, etc.) on the back table will be handed to you by a gloved volunteer. We can cut down on the spread of germs by not getting these items ourselves.
  • Please maintain the appropriate social distance of 6 feet from those outside your household or close family.

This may sound like a lot of precautions, but our church knows better than most how serious the Coronavirus can be. These are just a few common-sense guidelines that will help us protect the most vulnerable among us.
